What is a Ceramic Coating?

Some of the more recent protection technologies for your vehicles are ceramic coatings, which typically contain silica dioxide, a polymer that is incredibly hard and similar to glass. Applying a ceramic coating results in a thick glass life layer that shields your car's paint, giving it an amazing deep gloss and durability. Unlike waxes and sealants, ceramic coatings are resistant to chemicals and detergents, and when properly maintained, ceramic coatings can last several years.

Ceramic coatings are notable for their exceptionally low slip angle, which causes water to bead and sheet off non-level surfaces. It also makes maintaining your vehicle's exterior much easier and safer because dirt has a hard time sticking, and due to the hardness of the coating, it reduces the fine scratches and swirls caused by washing but will not prevent something like a (rock chip).

Why should you protect your vehicle's paint?

Your vehicle's paint consists of a layered structure, including a primer layer, a base-coat or colour layer, and the final clear coat layer. The clear coat is crucial for providing the shine and depth to your vehicle. If you choose not to protect this layer the exterior of your vehicle will start to deteriorate very quickly.

Your car is exposed to a variety of environmental elements, such as UV rays from the sun, the dirt, salt, and debris from the roads, tree sap, acid rain, and bird droppings. All of these things will oxidize the paint on your car and leave it looking awful. Think about a ceramic coating as an invisible layer of sacrificial protection that will absorb damage in place of your clear coat layer.

How to keep your Ceramic Coated vehicle maintained?

Inadequate methods of exterior car washing can lead to scratches and swirls, which can be made worse by things like using automatic car washes. Despite their good intentions, these bristle brushes can cause more harm than good, as they carry contaminants and undergo constant use. When time is of the essence, a touchless wash is a better option though it may not achieve perfection. Consider washing your car atleast once a month, preferably two or three times, using the right washing techniques to reduce damage.

  • Recommend to use the two bucket method, wash bucket and rinse.( with grit guards)
  • Foam up the vehicle before you attempt the contact-wash
  • Always use a soft mitt instead of bristle brushes
  • When using your mitt on the paint make sure you do not go in circular motions instead go in straight lines(linear motions)
  • Wash your mitt in your bucket after every 1-3 panels to ensure you have no trapped dirt in your mitt while using it on your paint
  • Use safe Ph balanced soaps

All of these tips will help you minimize your chances of adding swirls or scratches to your paint. Why is windshield coating beneficial?

When driving at speeds exceeding 50 kilometers per hour in adverse weather conditions, our advanced windshield coating ensures rapid water beading or sheeting, minimizing the need for frequent wiper blade use. This not only improves visibility but also enhances overall driving safety and security. The coating's easy-to-clean properties simplify maintenance washes, while its resistance to chemicals from pH 4 to pH 12, coupled with a water drop sliding angle of less than 20 degrees and extreme abrasion resistance, guarantees long-lasting protection for your windshield. Our highly advanced windshield coating service increases performance and durability.

Is it a good idea to have your wheels ceramic coated?

Thanks to the self-cleaning properties in wheel ceramic coatings, it significantly reduces the time required to maintain pristine wheels, especially those with intricate patterns. The coating's effective resistance against dirt, debris, dust, and brake dust minimizes their bonding to the wheels. Additionally, it boasts impressive chemical resistance and can withstand temperatures exceeding 800°C. With a long-lasting protective layer, the ceramic coating offers durability for up to 12 months, potentially extending to 24 months with proper wheel maintenance. This not only guarantees a consistently sparkling and well-protected look, but also contributes to the overall longevity of the wheels and brakes, making it a compelling choice for wheel care enthusiasts.
